Registration Process:

To register, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Pakistan Navy website at http://www.joinpaknavy.gov.pk.
  2. Registration will be open from 21 May to 04 June 2023.
  3. Candidates should not send applications directly to the Recruitment Directorate at Naval Headquarters, as they will not be entertained.

Selection Procedure:

The selection procedure involves the following steps:

  1. The entrance test date will be communicated through the respective PNR&SC (Pakistan Navy Recruitment & Selection Center) website.

  2. The entrance test will be computer-based (e-testing) and will cover the following subjects:

    • Intelligent test
    • Academic test (English, Maths/Physics, and General Knowledge)
  3. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a preliminary medical interview and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) at their respective PNR&SCs.

    • The PET standards are as follows:
      • Running: One Mile (1.6 km) in 8 minutes
      • Push-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes
      • Sit-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes
      • Chin-ups: 3 repetitions in 2 minutes
  4. Application forms will be issued to candidates who qualify the preliminary Medical/Interview and PET.

  5. Only shortlisted candidates based on merit will be called for Test/Interviews at ISSB (Inter Services Selection Board).

  6. Medical examinations of ISSB recommended candidates will be conducted at authorized CMH (Combined Military Hospital)/PNS SHIFA.

  7. Final selection for the permanent commission will be done by Naval Headquarters based on merit.

Prospects:

Upon successful completion of basic training, candidates will be granted a permanent commission and awarded one of the following degrees, depending on their branch:

  • Operation Branch: BS (Maritime Sciences)
  • Marine Engineering Branch: BE (Mechanical)
  • Weapon Engineering Branch: BE (Electrical)
  • Supply Branch: BS (Supply Chain Management)

Note: Selected officers may have opportunities to pursue MS and PhD degrees abroad, based on aptitude and academic progress.

Ineligibility:

The following conditions render candidates ineligible:

  • Rejection by ISSB on two occasions.
  • Screening out by ISSB on two occasions.
  • Testing within four months (120 days) of the previous appearance in ISSB, except for candidates appearing in GHQ/NHQ/AHQ selection board.
  • Dismissal, removal, or debarment from government services, including the Armed Forces.
  • Conviction in a court of law for any heinous offense (to be ascertained by the competent military authority).
  • Permanent unfitness declared by the Appeal Medical Board (PUF by AMB).
  • Medical unfitness due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested).
  • Withdrawal from any bonded Armed Forces college/institution on disciplinary grounds.
  • Withdrawal/discharge/resignation or purchase of a commission from any Armed Forces officer's academy/training institution for any reason.
  • Tampering with academic certificates, forgery, or concealment to gain undue advantage will result in permanent ineligibility for all types of commissions in the Armed Forces.
